“The Cincinnati Tradition Drum & Bugle Corps was founded by Tom Slade and Dan Hartwig in 1984. The corps acquired percussion and brass instruments from Silver Spectrum and Pride of Cincinnati Drum and Bugle Corps. Prior to 2009, the corps performed primarily as a parade corps and in exhibition at Drum Corps International events within the Ohio Tri-State area. Tradition’s first DCI appearance was at the Queen City Classic in 1986.”
The corps was a Class A finalist in 2014-2015, and Class A champions in 2016 and 2017. The corps is currently active in Drum Corps International. Tradition is also one of the 12 charter members of the DCI All-Age Class
Santa Clara Vanguard 2025

“The Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps is a World Class performing ensemble and one of the founding groups of Drum Corps International (DCI). Formed in 1967, Santa Clara Vanguard (A-Corps) training and performance season runs from late-May to mid-August.
Each season, 165 young adults from around the world between the ages of 16 & 22 join SCV for an educational training program and cross-country tour. During our intensive Pre-Tour program, performers develop their technique and learn that year’s production with our world-class educators and designers. Then they embark on a tour, performing for audiences of thousands of people at events around the United States.”

“Valhalla Winds is a marching arts ensemble that rehearses in Miamisburg, Ohio, on weekends from January thru April. We compete with other groups in our specific division. All shows are in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.”
Valhalla Winds received the silver medal their first year of competition in WGI’s Independent Open Class in 2023, and won their class in WGI for the 2024 season.
Valhalla Winds is also undefeated in the Mid East Performance Association.
